A little bit of our story...

Writer's picture: Jill StidhamJill Stidham

When I stepped back from my job as the La Plata Library Director in 2017 I knew that I needed to work from home to take care of Paul after his first mini stroke and continue homeschooling our two youngest children. That first year I only had a dream in my heart, some seeds, a few hand tools and a tiller that's older than me. Shyanne and I attended workshops and read as much flower related material as we could possibly get our hands on. I also started studying to become a Floral Designer through Penn Foster's online program. This allowed me to work on my studies while the kids were working on their's. If you don't know, I'm notorious for pacing and always moving some part of my body if I have to sit for awhile so having something to work on while they were doing school was a win-win for all of us!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Anyway, each year since, Shyanne and I have been striving to bring you better blooms by changing our growing practices to supporting our soil and developing beneficial insect populations to learning how to create amazing foam free designs. Sometimes we hit it out of the ball park and other times we strike out. But the one thing that you can count on is the fact that we will not give up. You can rest assured that we are constantly looking for ways to further our floral education and bring you gorgeorous blooms each season.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We've got great things in store for 2021 and I think you're going to love them! So hold on tight and get ready to join us on this crazy ride!⠀⠀⠀

Until next time, keep spreading joy!
